How I Built a Chrome Extension That Brings AI to Every Text Field

A Chrome extension called AIType was built to reduce context switching by bringing AI directly into every text field on every website. It uses a custom streaming client and storage for configuration and conversation history. The extension has features such as a keepalive ping system and @directives for users to type commands. It's free to install and doesn't require API keys or account creation. It's built with TypeScript and WXT, and is available on the Chrome Web Store.
