The Cactus team has released Needle 2, a 14MB agentic LLM for edge AI devices. It runs on phones, wearables, smart home devices, and robots, and achieves high performance despite its small size. Needle 2 is 5-70x smaller than similar models and uses 7-85x fewer MFLOPs per token, making it suitable for power-constrained devices.
