Comcast is splitting in two

Comcast is splitting into two companies to protect its profitable broadband and wireless business from increasing industry pressure. The separation will take a year, with shareholders owning shares in both companies. This move aims to isolate the media and entertainment business from the rest of the company. The broadband and wireless business will retain the Comcast name, while the media business will be named NBCUniversal. The separation is expected to be completed within a year.
