Show HN: I replaced a $120k bowling center system with $1,600 in ESP32s
I, an SRE, replaced a $120k bowling center score keeping system with $1,600 in ESP32s. The original system was expensive due to vendor lock-in and outdated technology. Using open hardware and computer vision, I built a prototype for $200-$400 per lane-pair. This project showcases the potential of open hardware and DIY solutions in reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
