Separating AI’s Technological Problems from Its Capitalism Problems
AI's rapid development is causing public distrust, but the issue lies in the socio-political systems it's embedded in, not just the technology itself. The technology has made significant progress in solving some problems, but not others, such as its tendency to be sycophantic and lack evidence-based answers. To address this, we need to separate the technology from the systems it's in and make structural changes. This requires recognizing the gaps in our current systems and acting to make changes before it's too late. We should prioritize solving the technological problems that are holding AI back from being truly useful and trustworthy.
