Accelerate PostgreSQL migrations using Gemini in Database Migration Service

Database Migration Service (DMS) now includes AI-assisted code conversion powered by Gemini, which can convert stored procedures, triggers, and custom functions into PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL code faster and with higher accuracy. This solves the 'last mile' bottleneck of database migration, where manual code conversion can take months of engineering effort. DMS provides automated schema conversion alongside AI-generated code suggestions, allowing database teams to review and edit suggestions in the Google Cloud console. This accelerates PostgreSQL migrations and reduces the risk of conversion errors. Database teams can now focus on higher-level tasks instead of manual code translation.
