Microsoft introduces cheaper Surface devices with half the memory

Microsoft has introduced cheaper Surface devices with reduced memory, the 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop now cost $849 and $949 respectively, down from $1,049 and $1,199. The devices now come with 8GB of RAM instead of the previous 16GB. This change is likely to appeal to budget-conscious buyers. The reduced memory models are now the base configurations.
