Whistleblower for Database: Set up an internal informant who exposes performance
Database performance issues can be predicted by monitoring CPU utilization, query performance, cache hit ratio, storage utilization, and document-scanned-to-returned ratio. Ignoring these issues can lead to high latency, high IO Wait, and increased disk queue depth. To prevent these issues, set up a whistleblower system to alert DBAs of potential problems and investigate and optimize database performance accordingly.
